The collection consists of a typed 2 p. history by A. H. Goetz of the Taylorsville, Ind. Lutheran Church in an area later taken over by Camp Atterbury, and a letter (1946) telling how the history was found in a clock donated to the church by Goetz. The church history is not dated.

The Taylorsville, Ind. Lutheran Church was founded in 1846 by the Lutheran and United Brethren. The latter were then excluded, and the Lutherans provided intermittent services until 1898; services thereafter were provided by the Methodists.
